To paint a pot of green makes me happy. Somehow, this simple act calms the mind. Green has always carried the feeling of life — quiet, gentle, yet full of renewal. A single color can already create a vivid world; it doesn’t always need the company of others.

While painting, I added a light, almost accidental shade — a funny touch that looked like a water stain. Yet that tiny imperfection brought the work closer to reality. It was as if the painting started to breathe, to hold a life of its own.

It reminded me of a Chinese saying: 无心插柳柳成荫An unintentional act (planting a branch from a tree) may grow into unexpected forest. I love this thought. Sometimes what we plan carefully feels stiff, while the unplanned — the stroke of a brush, the drop of water, the moment of letting go — turns out to be the most alive.
