A Weekend Day Out

Last weekend was a cloudy day, but no wind. I decided to go out for some pleasure and relaxation. In Dutch we say ” een dagje uit” or even “uitje“, means a day outside or just out. Normally people go to museums, parks, or zoos — just for fun.

I went to a golf course, want to swing the golf club, and hit the ball to see it flys. Therefore bing able to experience that small sense of control. It was deeply relaxing to walk on the grass, across gentle hills and around quiet pools.

Feeling in control of something is indeed a pleasure. Yet I was reminded: The joy of control is sweet, yet fragile — like holding water in the hands. For a moment it feels certain, yet it slips away with time. Perhaps the truest strength lies not in holding, but in letting go, and finding peace in the flow that cannot be mastered.
